Manjawa ( Ukrainian Манява ; Russian Манява , Polish Maniawa ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast Ivano-Frankivsk with about 3500 inhabitants (2001).
The village is the administrative center of the 44 km² district council of the same name within the Bohorodtschany Rajon , to which the Bojky ( Бойки , ⊙ ) settlement with about 50 inhabitants belongs.
Manjawa is located 29 km southwest of Bohorodchany district center and 50 km southwest of the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast center in the Gorgany mountain range at 519 m altitude on the banks of the Manjawka ( Манявка ), a 21 km long tributary of the Bystryzja Solotwynska .
The river, which falls about 20 meters deep here in several cascades and thus forms one of the highest waterfalls in the Ukrainian Carpathians , is a hydrological natural monument of national importance at this point.
Above the village in the forest is a well-known monastery ( ⊙ ) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kiev Patriarchate) from the 17th / 18th centuries. Century.
