The list of the team cadres of the Swiss 1st Bundesliga in chess 2001 contains all players who were used in the Swiss Chess Bundesliga 2001 at least once.
ASK Winterthur, Club d'échecs de La Chaux-de-Fonds and SK Aarau managed with 12 players each, while Basel BVB had 21 players play at least one competition. A total of 116 players were used, 16 of whom took part in all competitions.
Players from 5 nations were used, with the majority of the foreigners coming from Germany.
The best individual result was achieved by Martin Fierz (SV Wollishofen) with 5 points from 6 games, while Max Scherer (SV Birsfelden / Beider Basel) achieved the same number of points from 7 games. With Matthias Rüfenacht , René Deubelbeiss, Paul Erzinger, Milorad Novosel (all Basel BVB), Rolf Benz (ASK Winterthur), Stefan Löffler , Giancarlo Franzoni (both SK Bern), Ralph Bauert (SV Wollishofen), Zoran Bojic, Branko Filipović , Ognjen Cvitan (all SV Birsfelden / Beider Basel) and Oliver Kurmann (Luzern Musegg) achieved twelve players 100% of the possible points, but they only played a few games. Rüfenacht was used twice, the other named players were used once.
The oldest player of the season was Benjamin Grunder (* 1935), who played for SV Birsfelden / Beider Basel, and the youngest player was Severin Papa (ASK Winterthur) and Oliver Kurmann (Lucerne Musegg), born in 1985 .
