Manual Kant is a German punk rock band from Landshut , whose members now temporarily live in Berlin .
history
Manual Kant was founded in 2005 by Malte Borgmann, Andi Mezger and Maximilian Sonnauer; shortly afterwards Christian Auer joined as guitarist. The band got its name because the American exchange student Johnny Brubaker, who played in the band for a short time, pronounced Immanuel Kant as "manual cunt".
In 2007 Manual Kant won the Landshut music competition "Rock in the Villa". After a guitarist and drummer changed in 2008, Manual Kant released the demo CD Walter Frosch Demo in summer 2010 . In December 2011, the single was released Die Aschfahlen Mädchen . In February 2012 the band released their debut album Applaus and shortly afterwards they appeared in the tenth season of on3-Startrampe , where they won the audience award at the Rock-im-Park-Festival in early June 2012. Also in 2012 the band was nominated by on3 for the New Music Award and played in the final of the competition. In autumn 2012 Manual Kant acted as tour support for the band Frittenbude , also from Landshut, and also as the opening act for Madsen . In December 2012 the album EP 2012 was released . Manual Kant made the songs available for free download on Soundcloud again and told the fans on the Facebook page: “Suck and spread! Like a professional with herpes! ”.
After the successes in 2012, the band split up at short notice after the two guitarists Staudinger and Auer left the band. Shortly afterwards, Franz Sonnauer, former drummer of the Landshut rock band Against the grain and also former guitarist of Pink Plastic Jesus , joined them.

Malte Borgmann, the band's front man, has been with Jetzt.de since March 2010 . Maximilian Sonnauer, former guitarist, studies sociology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Christian Auer, then also the band's guitarist, studies at the Berlin University of Technology and Economics .
