Manuel Consiglieri

Manuel Consiglieri (born November 15, 1915 ) is a former Peruvian athlete who was South American discus champion in 1941 and 1943 .

Consiglieri won the bronze medal behind the two Chileans Waldo Schönfeldt and Héctor Benapres at the South American Championships in Santiago de Chile in 1935 with 39.67 meters . Only six years later he was successful again at the South American Championships in Buenos Aires in 1941 ; with 46.40 meters he threw his personal best and won with 1.35 meters ahead of the Chilean Karsten Brodersen . Two years later he defended at the South American Championships in Santiago de Chile in 1943 , he successfully defended his title with 44.63 meters, almost three meters ahead of his compatriot Eduardo Julve . In 1947 in Rio de Janeiro, Consiglieri finished fifth with 42.51 meters. At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 Consiglieri missed qualifying for the final as 17th with 43.01 meters. He won his last medal at the South American Championships in Lima in 1949 , with 44.14 meters he received the bronze medal behind the Argentine Emilio Malchiodi and the Chilean Brodersen.

With a height of 1.87 meters, Consiglieri's competition weight was 94 kilograms.
