Manuel Guijarro Arenas (born July 7, 1998 in Albacete ) is a Spanish sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter distance .

Athletic career

Manuel Guijarro gained his first international experience in 2015 when he retired from the youth world championships in Cali over 400 meters with 48.54 s in the first round and also with the mixed 4 x 400 meter relay with 3: 32.14 min did not make it to the finals. In 2018 he took part in the Spanish 4 x 400 meter relay at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , but did not make it to the final with 3: 07.52 minutes. He then finished fifth at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo in 46.63 seconds and won the bronze medal behind the teams from Italy and Tunisia in 3: 09.78 minutes. The following year he retired from the U23 Mediterranean Indoor Championships in Miramas with 48.68 s in the run and he reached the semi-finals of the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow in the individual competition and retired there with 47.34 s, while he was with the Season won the silver medal behind Belgium in 3: 06.32 min. He then finished fifth in the relay at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 3: 07.62 minutes.
