Manuel Schmid (musician)
Manuel Schmid (born September 5, 1984 in Altenburg ) is a German singer , keyboard player , composer , lyricist and sound engineer .
Life
At the age of seven Schmid received keyboard lessons at the music school in Altenburg. At the age of 15 he led his first band. After that he was keyboard player and singer in various local cover bands. At the same time, he developed his own song programs and took singing lessons at the music schools in Borna and Altenburg. In 2009 he published his first solo album “Leben”, on which the last texts of the late author and songwriter Kurt Demmler are set to music. Since 2012 he has been the singer and keyboard player of the art rock band Stern-Combo Meißen , where he followed Reinhard Fißler and Ralf Schmidt .
On July 1, 2016 Schmid's solo album “Seelenparadies” was released, on which guest musicians such as Dirk Zöllner , Rainer Oleak , Marek Arnold , Anna-Marlene Bicking, René Niederwieser and Peter Rasym can be heard. Various texts come from Andreas Hähle and Kurt Demmler . In December 2016, the release hats your dream took first place in the radio listener charts at MDR Saxony-Anhalt.
In the summer of 2017 the live album “Deine Liebe und mein Lied” was released, on which new interpretations by artists such as 4 PS , Holger Biege , electra , Veronika Fischer , Karat , Karussell , Manfred Krug , Lift and Silly can be heard. The former lift keyboardist and composer Wolfgang Scheffler can be heard as keyboard player on his own tracks. Shortly after it was published, the lift cover To the South took first place in the MDR Saxony-Anhalt radio listener charts for several weeks. In July 2017, it reached number 23 in the “Rock from Germany” category on Amazon's bestseller list .
On December 14, 2018, the album "Zeiten" was released, which Schmid produced together with his long-time musical partner Marek Arnold . Furthermore, both are active in the progressive rock band CYRIL.
Schmid studied audio engineering at the SAE Institute Leipzig and graduated successfully in 2011. He lives and works in Altenburg, Berlin and Leipzig.
