Manuel Weber (born August 28, 1985 in Villach ) is an Austrian football player on the position of midfielder .
Career
Club career
Weber began his career in the youth team of FC Kärnten . In 2003 he made his debut in the first team of the southern Austrians. In his first season he made eight appearances in the Bundesliga . In 2004 he was relegated with the Carinthians. After three years in second division , he moved to the newly formed SK Austria Kärnten in the highest Austrian division. After a strong season and the tragic events surrounding Adam Ledwoń , who committed suicide in June 2008, Weber was appointed the new captain of SK Austria Kärnten by coach Frenkie Schinkels in summer 2008 .
On May 27, 2009 it became known that the transfer to Wiener Neustadt , which was already valid for a fixed date, had been canceled due to the termination of the contract with Wiener Neustadt manager Peter Svetits . His manager confirmed the transfer of the Carinthian to SK Sturm Graz at the end of the 2008/09 season on the same day .
On May 28, 2009 Weber finally signed a two-year contract with SK Sturm. On January 30, 2011 Weber extended his contract with the Graz team prematurely by three years until 2014. In the 2010/11 season he became Austrian football champions with Sturm Graz.
In summer 2014 he moved to Wolfsberger AC .
After the 2015/16 season Weber ended his professional career at the age of 30 and moved to the West Lower League for SV Rosegg .
National team
Manuel Weber came to several assignments in various age groups of the ÖFB youth, including two for the Austrian U-21 national team . On May 19, 2011 he was called up for the first time in the Austrian national team by team boss Didi Constantini . Only a few days later he made his international debut in a 3-1 win over Latvia when he came on the field in the 90th minute for Zlatko Junuzović .
