Adam Ryszard Ledwoń (born January 15, 1974 in Olesno , Poland ; † June 11, 2008 in Klagenfurt , Carinthia , Austria ) was a football player with Polish and German citizenship .

life and career

Ledwoń started his career at Małapanew Ozimek in Poland. He then moved to Odra Opole . For the first time in the first division he played at GKS Katowice . After good performance there, he moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga , but was unable to prevail and was handed over to the second division Fortuna Köln in 1999 together with Mehdi Pashazadeh . From here he moved to Austria for the first time in 2000 for FK Austria Wien . In August 2002 he came to Admira Wacker , from 2005 he played for SK Sturm Graz . An incident in 2005 caused a stir when Ledwoń alleged to the Polish tabloid media that Dietmar Kühbauer had insulted him because of his nationality before the World Cup qualifier between Austria and Poland . Kühbauer always denied this. For the 2007/2008 season Ledwoń moved to Carinthia to SK Austria Kärnten .

On June 11, 2008, Ledwoń was found hanged in his apartment in Klagenfurt by his club colleague Patrick Wolf .

In 2014 it became known that Ledwoń's name was mentioned in connection with a soccer manipulation scandal. Ledwoń is said to have made an offer of money to the then captain of SV Ried , Oliver Glasner , in the event of a deliberate defeat by Ried against Austria Kärnten . The proceedings were dropped because Ledwoń could no longer be prosecuted posthumously.
