Manuel Zurria

Manuel Zurria (* 1962 in Catania ) is an Italian flautist .

Life

Zurria received his musical training in Rome , where he also lives. He worked as a soloist in the musical theater productions L'esequie della luna by Francesco Pennisi (1991) and Orfeo cantando… tolse by Adriano Guarnieri (1994). With Salvatore Sciarrino , he worked on the projects Omaggio a Burri for the Festival delle Nazioni in Città di Castello (1995), Nuvolario for the festival Milano Musica (1995) and Il Cerchio tagliato dei suoni for Mittelfest of Cividale del Friuli (1997).

Zurria performed at international festivals, including a. at the Venice Music Biennale and the Darmstadt Summer Courses for Modern Music and gave the world premieres of works by numerous contemporary composers such as Claudio Ambrosini , Sylvano Bussotti , Aldo Clementi , Franco Donatoni , Luca Francesconi , Stefano Gervasoni , Roberto Carnevale , Claude Lenners , Gabriele Manca , Yan Maresz , Franco Oppo , Maurizio Pisati , Fausto Razzi , Fausto Romitelli and Yoshihisa Taïra .

Together with the clarinetist Paolo Ravaglia , the violinist Aldo Campagnari , the cellist Francesco Dillon and the pianist Oscar Pizzo , he forms the Alter Ego ensemble .
