Manuela Maria Dumfart (born in Linz , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

The Upper Austrian soprano Manuela Dumfart graduated with distinction from Althea Bridges , Andreas Lebeda and Thomas Kerbl at the Anton-Bruckner Private University in Linz . At the Mozarteum Salzburg she continued her studies in “Master's Opera and Music Theater” with Kammersängerin Barbara Bonney as well as with Ingrid Mayr and Josef Wallnig and graduated in 2008 with distinction.

Engagements have led Manuela Dumfart to the Beijing Opera House, to the Tyrolean Festival Erl, to the Wolfsburg Theater, Rüsselsheim Theater, Linz State Theater, Bad Hall City Theater, Gmunden City Theater, Wels City Theater, Steyr City Theater, Wil Theater, among others as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni , as Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro , as Arminda in La finta giardiniera , as Elisabeth in Tannhäuser , 3rd Norn in Götterdämmerung , as Helmwige in Die Walküre , as a flower girl in Parsifal , as Despina and Dorabella in Così fan tutte , as a voice in Jakob Lenz by Wolfgang Rihm, in Crazy for you , as Katte in Kronprinz Friedrich by Sigfried Matthus, in Maria Magdalena, Sound of music a . v. m.

The operas Così fan tutte and Le nozze di Figaro took Dumfart to numerous theaters in Germany and Switzerland, with the production of Le nozze di Figaro from 2009, in which she sang the Contessa with great success with audiences and press, was awarded was awarded the INTHEGA Music Theater Audience Award for the best guest theater performance in Germany in 2009.

Manuela Dumfart was one of two internationally selected sopranos in a master class followed by a concert with Maestro Fabio Luisi in France, where she sang Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni and Despina in Così fan tutte at the final concert .

Apart from her opera engagements, Dumfart is also a sought-after concert singer, for example in Salzburg (House of Constanze Mozart ), Linz ( Brucknerhaus Linz), Berlin , Zurich , Beijing and Wuhan . Concerts have taken and will take them to Japan , Beijing, Germany and Switzerland , among others .

For several years now, Manuela Dumfart has also been responsible for the musical framework for the renowned BMW Berlin Christmas event with prominent guests from film, television, politics, sports and music.

She gave concerts for the sponsors of the Metropolitan Opera New York and performed for the Friends of the Salzburg Festival and for the Friends of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra.

She also works closely with the filmmaker Martina Hechenberger and Ali Nikrang (orchestra) - they “film” well-known opera pieces and then publish them.

A special feature of these recordings is that Dumfart also records well-known opera duets and takes on both the soprano and mezzo- soprano roles .

In 2017/2018 she will play the leading female role in the art film “Sehn.Sucht” based on a literary model of "Ich und Er" (Dumfart 1992), which is produced by Martina Hechenberger MinaPictures and is also directed by her. The film is to be shown at various film festivals in 2018. Dumfart will write the score with Ali Nikrang. The renowned clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and author Hans Morschitzky is a psychological advisor on psychodrama.
