Marc Engels

Marc Engels (* 1965 or 1966 ; † April 9, 2020 ) was a Belgian sound engineer .

Life

Marc Engels studied sound engineering at the Institut des arts de diffusion in Louvain-la-Neuve . From the beginning of the 1990s he was regularly involved in film. Until his death he worked in over 80 Belgian and French film and television productions. For the sound of the biopic Jacques - Discoverer of the Oceans directed by Jérôme Salle , he and Fred Demolder , Sylvain Rety and Jean-Paul Hurier were awarded the French César Film Prize for the best sound . For the two films I'm dead, make something of it! and Tueurs , he was nominated for the Belgian Magritte Film Prize in the same category .

On April 9, 2020, Engels died at the age of 54 during the COVID-19 pandemic of complications from a COVID-19 disease.
