Largo Winch - Deadly Legacy

Largo Winch II - The Burma Conspiracy is a co-production between France , Belgium and Germany incurred action and adventure film from the year 2011 . It is based on the well-known and successful comic and book series Largo Winch by Jean Van Hamme and is the sequel to Largo Winch - Tödliches Erbe (2008).

action

The action starts about three weeks after the events of the first part: Largo Winch has now taken over the management of the company consortium, but is still not really happy with it. Instead of running the company, he prefers to save a reporter from a former Soviet republic in a car chase and, thanks to the contacts of his accompanying chief manager Dwight Cochrane, can escape with both of them and with the help of the mercenary troops of the Bosnian elite fighter Dragan Lazarevic.

Encouraged by the elderly and trusted Alexandre Jung - former head of the Red Cross and once best friend of Largo's adoptive father Nerio - Winch is preparing to sell his worldwide company. He intends to use the proceeds to set up a humanitarian foundation as a global relief organization that Jung will be in charge of. In order to exclude restrictions from other nations, the contract will be signed on Largo's ship in international waters . Knowing that after the transaction he would not get his money for a while and would be destitute, Largo signs. Not a moment later, however, the ship is seized by envoys from the International Court of Justice , led by public prosecutor Diane Francken. The officers secure evidence, in a cabin they also find the body of his confidante Freddy (known from the first part).

Finally Francken opened up the charge: In southern Burma , which was hit by the military junta , the troops of the local warlord General Kyah Min had massacred a village three years ago because there was a large nickel deposit below this village . The campaign was financed from a secret Swiss numbered account called “Pandora” - which is believed to be owned by the Winch Group. To make matters worse, Largo (as described in several flashbacks) three years ago stayed in Burma for several months. For Francken this happened in the fulfillment of an order from Nerio Winch. Although the board of directors denies the existence of a Pandora account, Largo finds out after clues from Nero's records that the mysterious credit does exist. Since his hands are financially tied and an important witness died with Freddy who could have confirmed the real reasons for his stay in Burma, Largo has to investigate on his own.

Without the knowledge of the board of directors, Largo goes to Bangkok with his butler Gautier , where a confrontation with a still unknown key witness is to take place in the local UN branch. Largo is arrested and escorted as expected, while Gautier is given an agreed other assignment. The key witness turns out to be Largo's then Thai lover Malunai, who incriminates him surprisingly heavily and denounces him as Nerio's henchman. Now that a trial and a verdict are inevitable, the Winch management bribes Largo's release. Since doubts also arise in the Winch group, Largo goes into hiding.

Suspecting that Malunai had been blackmailed, he sets off to General Min's military camp in the Burmese jungle. With the help of some rebels he knew three years ago, he was able to penetrate the camp, destroy it and free Malunai. But she doesn't want to go without her son Noom, whom Min is holding hostage and leverage. He also reveals that he was paid via Pandora, but an installment is still pending. In order not to endanger Noom, Largo finally makes the Pandora transfer to Min - but can ultimately escape with both of them. Since Francken also monitors the account movements, she sees herself confirmed as guilty in Largo.

At the same time, Gautier went on a lengthy search for Largo's friend Simon Ovronnaz and finally tracks him down: Simon was (as known from flashbacks) at that time also in Burma and can attest to Largo's neutral stay.

Meanwhile, Cochrane tries to transform the company, but is taken aback when the Swiss bankers present a possible buyer: the crude oligarch Virgil Nazatchov. Although this can only raise a partial amount, the price of the Winch shares has fallen sharply due to the media coverage around Largo. Nazatchov therefore sees himself in a favorable position to take over the Winch Group and intends to do this within the next few days.

While Nazatchov turns out to be an ally of General Min and Lazarevic as a traitor who kills Min on behalf of Nazatchov, Largo, Gautier and Simon meet again. Simon confirms Largo's harmless stay in Burma and how he was chauffeuring a stranger named "Thomas" back then. Thomas was a middleman who commissioned the massacre and made a pact with Min, but was shot by him when the second installment failed to materialize. Before they can plan any further, Lazarevic's henchmen track down the group. Largo can kill the henchmen, but Malunai is also killed in the scuffle. He finally escapes, brings Noom to safety and goes on the attack:

With a trick he can not only inform Francken, but also Simon and himself as a pilot on board a Winch jet with which Lazarevic wants to fly to Geneva and where Francken is also in the UN office there. There is a scuffle in Swiss airspace because Lazarevic suspects the ruse. Simon is thrown over an open aircraft door, whereupon Largo jumps after him and engages in a dogfight with Lazarevic, who is also pike. While Largo can parachute his friend, Lazarevic falls to his death.

In his need, Largo turns to his only confidante: Alexandre Jung, who lives near Geneva. While Simon is being looked after in his country estate, Largo arranges a meeting with Francken in the UN building. Independently of each other, both come on the trail of the real mastermind: Young. He seeks revenge, as the mysterious Thomas was his only son, who wanted to get the nickel deposits as a negotiator for the Winch group. When Nerio found out about the massacre at the time, he refused to pay the remainder of the sum intended only as a bribe and thus sealed his death by Min. Jung can immobilize Largo with an insulin syringe and now wants to kill Francken with Largo's knife in order to finally kill him to discredit. At the last moment, Simon is able to save Largo, who is finally able to free Francken from Jung's violence while the latter falls to his death in the stairwell of the building (obviously due to a lack of insulin injection).

In the end, Largo and his company are rehabilitated again, causing the share price to rise and preventing Nazatchov's takeover. Largo visits Malunai's grave with Noom (who turns out to be his son).
