Marc Lee (born March 17, 1969 in Knutwil , Lucerne ) is a Swiss media artist . He creates interactive installations , net art , performance and video art .

Live and act

From 1995 to 1999 he studied in the fine arts department of the Basel School of Design and from 2000 to 2003 in the new media department of the Zurich University of the Arts .

He experiments with information and communication technologies and locates thematic clusters that contain cultural, creative, economic and political aspects and are important for communication processes in digital networks. The work is a critical examination of these issues.

Marc Lee has exhibited at media art exhibitions such as ZKM Karlsruhe, New Museum New York, Transmediale Berlin, Ars Electronica Linz, Contemporary Art Biennale Sevilla, Viper and Shift Basel, Read_Me Festival Moscow, CeC Delhi, MoMA Shanghai, ICC Tokyo and National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Seoul.

It has received many prizes and recognitions such as the "Interaction" and "Software" awards from Transmediale Berlin and the Social Media Art Award from the Wolfsburg Phaenomenale. His art projects are in private and public collections such as the Federal Office for Culture in Bern and the ZKM Karlsruhe. He holds lectures and workshops on art and social media, media hacking, digital art and network culture in many countries and universities such as the Chinese University of the Arts (ACC) Hangzhou, Shanghai Institute of Visual Art (SIVA), Strelka Institute Moscow and the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).
