Marcel Sisniega Campbell

Marcel Sisniega Campbell (born July 28, 1959 in Chicago , † January 19, 2013 in Veracruz ) was a Mexican chess player and director .

He won the Mexican individual championship several times: 1975 to 1977, 1979, 1982, 1988 and 1989 in Mexico City and 1990 in Villahermosa . He played for Mexico at six Chess Olympiads : 1978 , 1982 , 1984 and 1988 to 1992 . He also took part in the Pan-American Championship (1991).

In 1978 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). The title of Grand Master (GM) was awarded to him in 1992. His highest rating was 2540 in July 1991.

His brother Ivar Sisniega Campbell (* 1958) is a modern pentathlete , his daughter Sofía Sisniega (* 1989) is an actress .
