Juan Carlos González Zamora (born June 24, 1968 in Havana ) is a Cuban chess player . He has been playing for Mexico since 2004 .
He was able to win the Mexican individual championship several times: 2004 in Pachuca de Soto , 2006 in Ciudad Juárez , 2007 in Pachuca de Soto, 2011 in Municipio Tapachula , 2012, 2013 in Mexico City and 2016 in Morelia . He played for Mexico at five Chess Olympiads : 2004 , 2006 and 2010 to 2014 . González Zamora was qualified for the 2007 World Chess Cup , but could not compete due to illness.
In 2004 he was awarded the title of Grand Master (GM).
