Amador Rodríguez Céspedes
Amador Rodríguez Céspedes (born September 8, 1956 in the province of Holguín ) is a Cuban chess player . He has been playing for Spain since 2002 and is a Spanish citizen.
He won the Cuban individual championship three times: 1984 (shared first with Jesús Nogueiras ) in Holguín , 1988 in Camagüey and 1997 (shared first with Reynaldo Vera ) in Matanzas . He played for Cuba at ten Chess Olympiads : 1974 , 1978 to 1990 , 1994 and 1996 . He also took part three times in the team world championships (1989 to 1997) and in three Pan-American championships (1987 to 1995).
In 1975 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM), the title of Grand Master (GM) followed in 1977. His highest rating was 2555 in January 1997.
