Isan Reynaldo Ortiz Suárez (born March 30, 1980 in Guantánamo ) is a Cuban chess player .
He was able to win the Cuban individual championship three times in Santa Clara : 2013, 2014 and 2015. He played for Cuba at four Chess Olympiads : 2012 to 2018 . He also took part in the World Team Championship (2015) in Tsaghkadzor and the Pan-American Championship (2013).
In the 2013 World Chess Cup he defeated Judit Polgár in the first round and was eliminated in the second round against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave . In the 2015 World Chess Cup he failed in the first round to Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.
In 2006 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM) and in 2011 the title of Grand Master (GM).
