Yuri González Vidal

Yuri González Vidal (born January 12, 1981 in Marianao , Havana ) is a Cuban chess player .

He won the Cuban individual championship in Havana in 2018. He played for Cuba at three Chess Olympiads : 2014 to 2018 . He also took part in the World Team Championship (2015) in Tsaghkadzor .

González Vidal took part in the World Chess Cup twice and failed in the first round in 2017 and 2019 against P. Harikrishna .

In 2000 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). The title of Grand Master (GM) was applied for for him in 2008. It was awarded in 2009. His highest rating was 2567 in April and May 2019.
