Román Hernández Onna
Román Hernández Onna (born November 23, 1949 in Santiago de Cuba ) is a Cuban chess player .
He won the Cuban Individual Championship in Sagua la Grande in 1982 . He played for Cuba at eight Chess Olympiads : 1970 , 1972 , 1978 to 1984 , 1988 and 1990 . He also took part in the team world championships (1989) in Lucerne and in two Pan-American championships (1971, 1991).
In 1975 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM) and in 1978 the title of Grand Master (GM). His highest rating was 2500 in January 1979.
