Silvino García Martínez (born July 4, 1944 in Havana ) is a Cuban chess player .
He won the Cuban individual championship four times: 1968 in Santiago de Cuba , 1970 in Havana, 1973 in Cienfuegos and 1979 in Santiago de Cuba. He played for Cuba at ten Chess Olympiads : 1966 to 1974 and 1978 to 1986 . He also took part once in the Pan-American Championship (1971).
In 1969 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). The title of Grand Master (GM) was awarded to him in 1975.
