Iván Salgado López (born June 29, 1991 in Ourense ) is a Spanish chess player .

In 2012 he won the open Ibero-American championship in Quito . He won the Spanish individual championship twice: in 2013 and 2017. He played for Spain in four Chess Olympiads : 2010 to 2016 . He also took part in the European team championships five times (2009 to 2017).

At the 2011 World Chess Cup he failed in the first round to Ernesto Inarkiew , as well as to Baadur Dschobawa at the 2017 World Chess Cup .

In May 2015 he won the first tournament in Neoclassical Chess in Madrid .

In Germany he played in the Bundesliga for SK Norderstedt ( 2012/13 ) and SG Turm Kiel ( 2018/19 and 2019/20 ). In Hungary he played for Községi Sportegyesület Decs .

In Spain he worked for CA Escuela Int. Kasparov-Marcote Mondariz , Sestao Naturgas Energia XT , Sestao Fundacion EDP and Club Ajedrez Solvay .

In France he played for the Club de L'Echiquier Chalonnais (between 2011 and 2016 ).
