Marcus Böhme (born August 25, 1985 in Berlin ) is a German national volleyball player .
Career
society
Marcus Böhme began his career at SV Preußen Berlin in Hohenschönhausen . He then played in the youth team of SC Charlottenburg and at VC Olympia. From 2005 to 2009 he played in the Bundesliga team at SCC Berlin. From 2009 to 2012, Marcus Böhme played at VfB Friedrichshafen and won two German championships and one DVV cup winner . He then moved to VC Altotevere San Giustino in Italy . In 2013 Böhme finished sixth with the national team at the European Championships in Poland and Denmark and returned to the German Bundesliga to Generali Haching . After his retirement, he moved to Fenerbahçe Istanbul in Turkey in 2014 . For the 2015/16 season, Böhme moved to Poland to join MKS Cuprum Lubin . He has been playing for Olympiacos since the 2017/18 season .
National team
With the junior national team, Böhme took part in the World Championships in 2003 and 2005 (eighth and ninth place) as well as in the European Championships in 2003 and 2004 (fourth and third place). In 2006 he made his debut in the senior national team . With the national team he reached the 9th place at the Olympic Games in Beijing in August 2008. At the Olympic Games in London 2012 he reached fifth place. At the 2014 World Cup in Poland , he won the bronze medal with the national team. He also received an individual award as the best middle blocker at the tournament. In June 2015, Böhme won the gold medal at the first European Games in Baku . In 2017 he became vice European champion in Poland .
Private
Marcus Böhme has a younger brother Matthias who also plays volleyball.
