The Roman Catholic Chapel of the Visitation is a hall building with retracted apse in the style of the late Rococo in Kempten district Mariaberg . The chapel is a listed building .

history

In 1768 Balthasar Weegmann from Guggers am Kniebos was allowed to build a new chapel instead of an old one. The chapel was built under Prince Abbot Honorius Roth von Schreckenstein in 1783.

The church was restored in 1932 and again in 2011. The focal points of the measures in 2011 were the replacement of rotten roof beams, a new covering of the roof and a moisture barrier on the outer facade. Of the total costs of € 220,000, the chapel association raised € 30,000 from private donations.

description

The arched choir arch is rounded off with two side niches against the nave . The mirror vault has a stitch cap throat with a cornice . The arched windows between the slightly cranked pilasters , the east window is between two blind windows under a round window. Furnishing

The light Rocailles stucco with rod frame surrounds frescoes from 1932 around the circular or oval cover mirror in the choir and nave . Rocaille volutes serve as pilaster capital . The shell work with flower pendants distinguishes itself from the strong profile frame of the choir arch niches. The coat of arms of Prince Abbot Honorius Roth von Schreckenstein can be seen on the choir arch.

The main altar with a stucco marble structure carries a figure of Mary between two vases and, like the church, dates from 1783. It is located in the middle between the side passages in the eastern sacristy room . In the altar extension , an altar sheet with the dove of the Holy Spirit is attached between two vases .

The niches in the outer choir carry two wooden figures and are dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul .
