The Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption of Mary in Elfershausen in the Bavarian district of Bad Kissingen is one of the architectural monuments of Elfershausen and is registered under the number D-6-72-121-2 in the Bavarian Monument List .

history

The tower of the church dates from the 14th century. The nave and choir were built in 1866. The interior of the church was redesigned in 1962–1963 and added in 1982. Before that, the furnishings were neo-Gothic .

description

The three-storey church tower with ogival sound windows stands south in the central axis of the nave. The two portals are next to it. The nave has seven window axes and merges into the northern three-eighth choir. The windows of the church are ogival. The sacristy is built on the west side of the choir .

Furnishing

The high altar consists of a hanging relief of the vision of John from Revelation and a substructure with the saints Burkard, Valentin , Sebastian and Kilian . The side altars show a crucifixion group (left) and the Assumption of Mary (right). The organ is placed on the southern gallery .

Bells

The bells were cast in 1628 and 1631 (smallest bell). The diameter is 95 cm, 83 cm and 79 cm, the weight 930 kg, 430 kg and 310 kg. The striking notes are (presumably) f sharp ′, a ′ and h ′. That would be a Te Deum motif.
