Annunciation from the south

The branch church of the Annunciation is a monument in Ainertshofen near Inchenhofen .

history

The originally Romanesque church probably burned down in the Middle Ages and was rebuilt in the 15th century. In the course of the War of the Spanish Succession , the church burned down again and was rebuilt by 1730. During a renovation in 1954, frescoes, presumably by Ignaz Baldauf , were uncovered.

Building description

The Annunciation is a hall church with a stab cap barrel and a retracted choir and a southern onion dome . The 20 × 7 meter nave is divided into four bays by three belt arches .

Furnishing

The Madonna around 1500 in the high altar is from Hans Multscher's school . It is framed by a halo with angel heads. In total there are 28 putti in the altar, which was created in the 18th century. The altarpieces on the side altars are by Ignaz Baldauf. On the left they show St. John of Nepomuk and St. Walburga and on the right the Descent from the Cross and St. Ottilia. The apostles heads over the Apostles crosses are probably inspired by natural models. The pews in the church are from the 18th century.
