Franz Alexander Bernhard von Boehn (born June 24, 1806 in Kolberg , † February 21, 1890 in Stolp ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and commandant of Stettin .

Life

Franz was a son of the Prussian captain in the engineer corps Ernst von Boehn (1774-1841) and his wife Magdalene Elisabeth, née Seiff (1781-1849).

Military career

After his education at the Berlin cadet Boehn occurred on April 8, 1824 second lieutenant in the II. Battalion of the 1st Guards landwehr the Prussian army in Szczecin a. From May 1824 to October 1825 he was in command of the Lehr-Garde-Landwehr-Battalion. On June 1, 1826, he was transferred to the Guard Reserve Infantry Regiment, and at the end of June 1839 he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant . As such, Boehn was commanded to the school department of the training infantry battalion in 1839/45. He was then promoted to captain to company commander at the end of June 1845 . With the promotion to major he was on July 17, 1851 as commander of the III. Battalion in the 3rd Guard Landwehr Regiment transferred to Lissa , Poland . This was followed by a position as commander of the Fusilier Battalion in the 11th Infantry Regiment from May 9, 1854 . In this capacity, Boehn rose to lieutenant colonel in mid-October 1856 . On March 15, 1859, he was initially assigned to lead the 5th Infantry Regiment and on May 31, 1859, he was promoted to colonel as regimental commander. Boehn received the Crown Order III from King Wilhelm I in mid-October 1861 on the occasion of the coronation celebrations .
