Maria Karsten (born January 30, 1881 in Cologne , † January 30, 1950 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German actress .

Life

Maria Karsten began her theater career with her first roles in Vienna . Subsequently, she was engaged at the New Theater in Frankfurt and at theaters in Hamburg and Berlin . In 1941 she became a member of the ensemble at the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt . So she stood on stage with Toni Impekoven in the play Pantaleon and his sons by Paul Ernst .

Maria Karsten was also seen in the 1931 feature film Die Koffer des Herr OF by Alexis Granowsky with Alfred Abel , Peter Lorre and Harald Paulsen , and in 1933 she embodied the character of Frau Sundewitt in the literary film adaptation of Heideschulmeister Uwe Karsten , directed by Carl Heinz Wolff . Hans Schlenck , Marianne Hoppe and Brigitte Horney played next to her .
