Mariama T. Jallow

Mariama T. Jallow (born on July 18, 1994 in Essau ) is a Gambian athlete .

Life

Jallow attended the Gambia Senior Secondary School , which she graduated in 2009.

Between 2008 and 2011 she won the Brufut Run over 10 km four times in a row , from 2012 to 2015 three times in a row in the half marathon distance.

In February 2016 she ran her first marathon. Afterwards she was trained with the financial support of the Dutch association Kinderhulp Gambia in the Kenyan town of Iten , from where numerous Kenyan long-distance runners come from or where they were trained.

On September 18, 2016, she came fourth in the Kassel Marathon and set a new Gambian record.

Jallow works as a policewoman with the Gambia Police Force .

  • September 18, 2016: Kassel Marathon : 42 km, 2:44:59, 4th place.
  • March 26, 2017: Cross Country World Championships 2017 ( Kampala , Uganda): 10 km, 42:21, 90th place.
  • October 15, 2017: Sofia Marathon ( Sofia , Bulgaria): 42 km, 2:46:59, 6th place.
