Maricel (* in Hanover ), actually Maricel Wölk , is a German musical performer and pop singer .

biography

At the age of thirteen, Maricel was already writing, composing and writing her first songs. After graduating from high school, she attended the Vitztum-Durukan musical school in Hanover and trained in acting, dance and singing, and she also took private singing lessons. In 1996 she got her first leading role in the musical Chickoo's Traum in the Theater am Aegi in Hanover . In 2000 she was the first cast of Lucy in the musical Jekyll & Hyde in Bremen . Then she played Constanze in the German premiere of Mozart! in the Neue Flora in Hamburg . From late 2002 to early 2003 she toured Europe with the musical and dance show Fire of Dance . She then played the Egyptian princess Amneris in Aida at the Colosseum Theater in Essen until 2005 . From September 2006 to March 2007 Maricel played Audrey in Der kleine Horrorladen in the Chemnitz Opera House . In November and December 2006 she also took on the role of Angel Belle in the musical From the Spirit of Christmas in the Schillertheater in Berlin . Between January 2007 and May 2008 she played Marguerite St. Just in the musical The Scarlet Pimpernel at the Halle Opera House and in autumn 2008 in the staging in the Stadttheater Baden near Vienna . From March 2007 to January 2008 she could be seen again as Lucy in the Chemnitz production of Jekyll & Hyde . As a daughter of the Rhine , she was in Der Ring - The Musical from December 2007 to June 2008 on the stage of the Bonn Opera . In the German premiere of the musical Marie Antoinette she could be seen in the title role from February to the end of May 2009 in the Musical Theater Bremen . In 2010 she played Maria in the West Side Story at the Stadttheater Baden near Vienna. During the 2010/2011 season, Maricel played Lucy again in the musical Jekyll & Hyde - in the production of the Hagen Theater . She returned to the Bonn Opera House in the 2011/2012 season as Sheila in the hippie musical Hair . At the beginning of 2013 she was engaged as Ottilie at the Baden City Theater in the White Horse Inn . As Milady de Winter , she could be seen on tour in Germany with the musical 3 Musketeers in autumn .

Outside of the musical genre, Maricel played with her band "The Toy". She got a record deal with Universal Music and was able to place her first single Still Waiting at number one on the FFN listener charts and enter the Dutch single Top 100 . She has had an author's contract with the BMG-UFA since 2000 and has been involved in film and cinema productions. In 2005 she released her German-language album Stronger , which also includes a duet with Uwe Kröger .

In 2008 she made her directorial debut and staged the specially composed children's musical Der kleine Zahlenteufel . In the years 2009 & 2011 followed text, music & direction for the Langenscheidt musicals Hexe Huckla and the totally crazy language machine as well as Hexe Huckla and the Christmas-Easter mess . The music for these pieces was created in collaboration with Thomas Lange .

With Jeanne d'Arc - Das Musical , Maricel, as author and composer, dedicated a musical to the French national heroine Johanna von Orleans . Some songs were created together with Thomas Lange. The historical musical has been implemented since autumn 2011 in cooperation with the theater publisher Gallissas .

As part of the Maricel in concert series , a Christmas concert took place in 2011, a Halloween party in October 2012 and the Scary Musical Night in early 2014.

In 2016/2017 Maricel sang the role of Mrs. Lovett in the musical Sweeney Todd at the Braunschweig State Theater . In 2019 she took on the role of Kit de Luca in Pretty Woman in Hamburg.
