Marienkapelle with community center (2019)

The Marienkapelle is the Roman Catholic chapel in the Jüngersdorf district of the Langerwehe community in the Düren district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

history

Old chapel

A chapel in Jüngersdorf was built after the Second World War. This was demolished in October 2011 because a larger chapel with a bell tower and community center was built on the same site . This new chapel was built from September 2012 to December 2013 according to plans by the Zülpich architect Markus Ernst. The church was founded on December 8, 2013 from Aachen Bishop Heinrich Mussinghoff ordained .

The new Marienkapelle was built to replace the Pierer parish church of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception and the Vilvenich Helena Chapel , both of which had to give way to the Inden opencast mine .
