Marina Alexandrovna Korovina ( Russian Марина Александровна Коровина ; born August 16, 1984 in Verkhnye Sergi , Sverdlovsk Oblast , Soviet Union ) is a Russian biathlete and former cross-country skier .

As a cross-country skier, Marina Korowina competed in several FIS races between 2005 and 2007 and several races in the Cross-Country Eastern Europe Cup between 2007 and 2008 . In a classic sprint final in Werschina Tjoi , she achieved her best result in this racing series in eighth place. In 2006, 2007 and 2008 she also took part in Russian championships. After 2008 she switched to biathlon. There she made her debut in the IBU Cup in Forni Avoltri in 2012 . In her first individual, Korowina immediately won first points in 18th place, in her second race, a sprint, she achieved a podium finish for the first time in third place behind Anna Bulygina and Nadine Horchler . A week later she won her first race in the second highest racing series with a sprint in Haute-Maurienne . With Jana Romanowa , Marina Korowina, Natalja Sorokina and Anna Bulygina she also won the relay race. In Canmore she won the third and fourth races in a row with two sprints, apart from the pursuit race in Haute Maurienne, which she did not finish, and thus also the first IBU Cup races outside Europe.

Marina Korowina has been competing in the Biathlon World Cup since 2012. In her very first race, a sprint, she finished 33rd in Khanty-Mansiysk and won her first World Cup points. Marina Korowina increased her best performance in the World Cup at the start of the 2011/2012 World Cup in Östersund. She finished 18th in the individual race.
