Marius-Vasile Cozmiuc
Marius-Vasile Cozmiuc or Marius Vasile Cozmiuc (born September 7, 1992 in Suceava ) is a Romanian rower .
Athletic career
In 2010, Marius-Vasile Cozmiuc, who competed for Dinamo Bucharest , won the title in the four-man without helmsman at the 2010 Junior World Championships together with Vlad Aicoboae , Toader Gontaru and Cosmin Bogus . The junior foursome also competed in this line-up at the European Championships in 2010 and finished in tenth place. In 2011 the Romanian four-man started without a helmsman with Ionut Minea, Marian Moraru, Marius-Vasile Cozmiuc and Ciprian Duduta at the U23 World Championships and finished ninth. At the European Championships in 2011 Cozmiuc competed with the Romanian eighth and finished fifth. In 2012, the Romanian four-man without a helmsman with Marius-Vasile Cozmiuc, George Palamariu , Cristi Ilie Pîrghie and Florin Curuea finished twelfth at the Olympic Games in London. At the European Championships held in Varese in September 2012 , the Romanian four-man won the silver medal behind the Greeks, for whom Georgios Tziallas and Ioannis Christou both competed in London. The four Romanians also competed with the eighth and finished sixth.
At the 2013 European Championships in Seville, the Romanian four-man won the silver medal behind the Dutch in the same line-up as last year. The Romanian four-man won the U23 World Championships with Toader Gontaru, Cozmiuc, Palamariu and Pirghie. Without Gontaru but with Curuea, the Romanian boat took tenth place at the 2013 World Championships . The following year the Romanian foursome started at the European Championships with Vlad Aicoboae, Toader Gontaru, Cozmiuc and Adrian Damii , this crew finished seventh. At the U23 World Championships, the four Romanians won the bronze medal behind the boats from Italy and Germany. In 2015, Gontaru, Cozmiuc, Palamariu and Pirghie rowed to ninth place at the European Championships . At the 2015 World Championships , Aicoboae, Damii, Cozmuc and Gontaru took eleventh place. With this rank, the Romanian four-man qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games. At the Olympic regatta in Rio de Janeiro, Vlad Aicobiae, Constantin Adam , Marius-Vasile Cozmiuc and Toader Gontaru took 13th and last place.
At the 2017 European Championships in Račice u Štětí , the Italian four-man without a helmsman won ahead of the Romanians with Cristian Ivascu , Vlad Aicoboae, Cozmiuc and Ciprian Tudosa . Four months later, Ivascu, Cozmiuc and Tudosa rowed to fifth place in the 2017 World Championships in the Romanian eighth. In 2018 the 1.97 m tall Cozmiuc and 1.95 m tall Tudosa formed a two-man without a helmsman . At the European Championships in Glasgow in 2018 , the two won the bronze medal behind the Croatians Martin and Valent Sinković and the French Valentin and Théophile Onfroy . In Plovdiv at the 2018 World Championships, the two Croatians won ahead of the Romanians and the French. The following year, the Sinković brothers also won the European Championships in Lucerne, Cozmiuc and Tudosa received silver in front of the Spanish boat.
