Mariusz Łoś

Mariusz Łoś (born May 20, 1982 ) is a Polish wrestler , Vice European Champion 2009 in the Greco-Roman style in the bantamweight division .

Career

Mariusz Łoś is a member of the Agros Zamosc sports club . In this club he started wrestling in 1992 and is trained there by Boguslaw Danilowicz. The 1.64 meter tall athlete weighs approx. 60 kg, but always starts in the bantamweight category at international championships, the weight class up to 55 kg body weight. He focused entirely on the Greco-Roman style.

The red-blonde athlete has been one of the best Polish junior wrestlers since the late 1990s. He took part in the Junior World Championships in 1999 in Nykøbing and 2001 in Tashkent and in the Junior European Championships in 2002 in Subotica , but could not place in any of these championships in the front field. In 2002 and 2003 he took 3rd place at the Polish senior bantamweight championships. From 2003 to 2006 he had to overcome a dry spell , because he could not prevail in Poland against the 2003 world champion in bantamweight Dariusz Jabłoński , against Pawel Kramarz and against Piotr Jablonksi .

In 2006 he finished 9th in the bantamweight world championships in Ulaanbaatar . At the European Championships in Sofia in 2007 he lost his first fight against the Ukrainian Vugar Ragimow and ended up in 18th place. In 2008 he could not qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing in two Olympic qualification tournaments, one in Ostia near Rome , where he was fifth and one in Novi Sad , where he was 12th .

In 2009 Mariusz Łoś had a big breakthrough at the European Championships in Vilnius , because he was there with victories over Jan Hocko from the Czech Republic , Anar Zeinalow from Estonia and others. Alexandar Kostadinow from Bulgaria and a defeat in the final against Jani Haapamäki from Finland Vice European Champion .

Mariusz Łoś is also very well known in Germany's wrestling circles, because he has been wrestling in the German Bundesliga since 2004. He was there for the AC Auerbach / RC Chemnitz competition , for AV Germania Markneukirchen and for TSV Dewangen .
