Mark Saina

Mark Saina (born November 10, 1970 ) is a retired Kenyan marathon runner .

In 1999 he finished second in the Venice Marathon , in 2000 with his personal best of 2:09:00 h, third in the Turin Marathon and in 2001 sixth in the Paris Marathon and fifth in Venice.

In 2002, a third place in the Hamburg Marathon was followed by a victory in the Athens Marathon . The following year he was ninth in the Rotterdam marathon , eleventh in the Prague marathon in 2004 and second in the Florence marathon . In 2005 he won the Los Angeles Marathon and in 2007 the Marathon de la Baie du Mont Saint-Michel .

Mark Saina didn't really start running until 1998, when he was a sociology student at Kenyatta University , when he realized he could keep up with fellow student Bernard Lagat in training .
