Mark Werner

Mark Werner (* 1969 ) is a German writer, screenwriter and television producer .

Career

Before and during his German studies , Werner worked as a newspaper reporter and television editor. After his graduation ( Magister Artium ) he first worked as an editorial manager and wrote scripts for Sony Pictures Film und Fernseh Produktions GmbH (formerly Columbia TriStar) from 1998 to 2010, later he worked as headwriter and producer for Brainpool TV GmbH , and since 2012 for Warner Bros. International Television Production (formerly Eyeworks TV Germany).

As headwriter and author, Mark Werner wrote screenplays for TV productions such as Mein Leben & Ich , Ritas Welt , Alles Atze and Nikola, and the comedy film Das große Comeback, nominated for the Grimme Prize . Some of the songs by the singer Hansi Haller , played by Uwe Ochsenknecht in the film, are also written by Werner. Werner is also the author of novels and non-fiction books.

In his fictional travelogue Our beautiful Germany (2011) , written with Chris Geletneky, the two "folk music stars" Wolfgang & Anneliese, who were already embodied in various television shows by Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka, undertake a humorous journey through Germany.

He has been nominated for the German Comedy Prize and the German Television Prize several times for his work , has also been awarded the German Television Prize and the German Comedy Prize and, together with co-author David Safier , the MDR Broadcasting Council Prize for Best Screenplay.

After the ARD series Die Kuhflüsterin with Cordula Stratmann , he recently wrote and produced the RTL series Beste Schwestern with Mirja Boes .
