Mark vom Hofe (* 1952 in Plettenberg ) is a German journalist and nature conservationist .

Life

Professional Activities

Born in the Sauerland, Mark vom Hofe studied English and social sciences in Cologne . After completing his internship , he worked as an editor for Cologne daily newspapers, including the Kölner Stadtanzeiger .

Since 1984, the court in the radio of the WDR , where he first as editor of the school radio , and later WDR 5 in the morning and present the show sufficient curiosity looked after. He was deputy editor-in-chief of Gesellschaft aktuell . Von Hofe is particularly well-known for his editorial work on the WDR 5 series Experienced Stories . Commitment to environmental and nature conservation

Since the late 1970s, Mark vom Hofe has been involved in environmental and nature conservation in the Bergisches Land . He is chairman of the (Rheinisch) Bergischer Naturschutzverein (RBN) and, since 2001, of the State Association for Nature Conservation and Environment (LNU) North Rhine-Westphalia , an umbrella organization of more than 90 nature conservation, hiking and cultural landscape maintenance associations with a total of over 300,000 members. He is also chairman of the nature conservation advisory board at the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis .

He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the North Rhine-Westphalia Environment and Development Foundation .

In cooperation with WDR 5 and LNU, he initiated the project Der Natur auf der Spur , which shows the natural heritage of North Rhine-Westphalia on guided hikes.

Category for its commitment to environmental protection and conservation of the awarded him the Rhineland Regional Council (LVR) in 1992 with the Rhineland Taler from.
