Markus Harzenetter
Markus Harzenetter (* 1965 in Memmingen ) is a German art historian . Since May 2015 he has been President of the State Office for Monument Preservation Hesse in Wiesbaden .
Life and career
Markus Harzenetter studied art history , modern and contemporary history and monument preservation in Bamberg . After a doctorate in art history in 1992 and stints in two Franconian museums, he completed an internship at the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation in 1994/1995 . From 1995 to 2000 he was head of the Department of Monument Preservation at the city of Regensburg and then returned to the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation, from 2003 as head of the Bavarian Monument List . From 2004 he was the main curator and head of the Department of Monument Registration and Research. On April 27, 2007, he was appointed as the successor to Eberhard Grunsky as the new head of LWL monument preservation, landscape and building culture in Westphalia at the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) and thus the state curator for Westphalia-Lippe. On May 1, 2015, he succeeded Gerd Weiß as President of the State Office for Monument Preservation in Hesse.
