Markus Klaus Schäffauer

Markus Klaus Schäffauer (* 1965 ) is a German Romanist .

Life

From 1984 to 1991 he completed a master's degree in Romance studies, German studies and history at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and at the University of Salamanca (November 1991 Magister Artium: Topic of the master's thesis : The Cervantes reception with Jorge Luis Borges and Miguel de Unamuno ). From 1992 to 1995 he completed a doctorate in Romance Studies (Spanish), Romance Studies (Portuguese) and German Studies (February 1996 PhD phil .: Topic of the doctoral thesis: ScriptOrality in Argentine literature. Functional change in orality in realism, avant-garde and post-avant-garde (1900– 1960) (Reviewers: Walter Bruno Berg , Wolfgang Raible and Reinhard Wendt )). From 1997 to 1998 he held a 13-month visiting professorship at the University of São Paulo (USP) with a research grant from the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico . From 1998 to 2002 he was a research assistant at the Romance Department of the Albert-Ludwigs-University with lectureships in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Hispanic American and Brazilian literature (focus: Latin American studies); Collaborator in the sub-project A4 The role of literary and audiovisual genres in Latin America in the creation of identity by the SFB 541 Identities and Alterities. The role of alterity in the constitution and construction of identity . From 2002 to 2004 he taught Spanish and Portuguese as a visiting professor for media and literary studies at the University of Vienna . From 2004 to 2005 he held a chair at the Romance Department for Spanish and Portuguese at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg im Breisgau . After his habilitation in 2006 with the habilitation thesis : Passages of genres and media in Latin America in the 20th century (reviewer: Walter Bruno Berg; Monika Fludernik ; Wolfgang Raible) he has been teaching at the chair for "Romance Philology / Spanish-Language and Portuguese-Language Literature" since 2006 of the University of Hamburg .
