Markus Nestroy

Markus Nestroy (born July 14, 1979 in Graz ) is an Austrian cameraman .

Life

Markus Nestroy was born the great-great-great-nephew of the Viennese poet Johann Nepomuk Nestroy . His father is the soil scientist Othmar Nestroy . After graduating from high school Lichtenfelsgasse in Graz, he studied psychology and media at the University of Graz and began making his first short films during his studies. At the same time he studied at the Academy for Applied Photography under the direction of Herman Herzele and contemporary dance under the direction of Mona May. This was followed by acting studies from 2001 to 2005 at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz , and from 2006 to 2012 a degree in camera the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . During this time he made numerous short films, including The Night Father Christmas Died, written and directed by Martin Schreier , which was nominated for the 2010 Student Oscar . In 2013 his first feature film Robin Hood by Martin Schreier premiered at the Max Ophüls Preis film festival . In 2015 the documentary Above and Below was released , directed by Nicolas Steiner, which was screened at numerous international festivals and won both the Swiss and German Film Awards for best documentary and for best image design. Don't Believe the Hype was released in 2016, where he met Til Schweiger. In 2016 Markus shot “Conni & Co 2” under the direction of Til Schweiger and in the same year “Hot Dog” with Til Schweiger and Matthias Schweighöfer in the lead roles under the direction of Torsten Künstler . This was followed by “Fack ju Göhte 3” by Bora Drachtkin.

Markus Nestroy lives in Berlin.
