The Markus Wasmeier open-air museum is a private museum on the edge of the Neuhaus district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Schliersee .

history

The former ski racer Markus Wasmeier opened the museum built with sponsorship money in his home town on May 1st, 2007. Began three is threatened by decay here offset farms. The museum now shows more than 22 historical buildings of the Bavarian Oberland on an area of ​​60,000 m². Events

In the open-air museum, old handicrafts are regularly presented, e.g. B. carving, felting , basket weaving , baking in the wood stove, brewing and distilling schnapps. Open-air concerts have also been held on the museum grounds since 2010 . The Beim Wofen property is also used as an inn for musical performances.

In 2012, the museum was used as the venue for the controversial birthday party of Miesbach District Administrator Jakob Kreidl ( CSU ) because of its costs of 120,000 euros, which were mainly borne by the Kreissparkasse Miesbach-Tegernsee . The rent for the museum was 10,000 euros.
