Markus Weitschacher

Markus Weitschacher (* 1989 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor , cabaret artist and comedian .

Life

After graduating from high school, Markus Weitschacher initially studied at the University of Vienna before deciding on acting. He received his acting training from 2009 to 2012 at the acting academy of chamber actress Elfriede Ott in Vienna. During his training he played three years in a row at the Nestroy Festival at Liechtenstein Castle in Maria Enzersdorf and in various theater projects in Vienna.

From autumn 2012 until 2014 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Children's Theater in Linz , where he took part in more than 15 productions. In 2014 he was awarded the “Stella” theater prize (theater prize for young audiences) as an actor in the production Heidi .

In the summer of 2016 he appeared for the first time at the summer theater in the Kulturfabrik Helfenberg . In July / August 2017 he played there in the world premiere of the production How one gods dawn by Henry Mason .

In 2016 he made his debut as a scooter in Die Räuber at the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen , where he was hired for three other productions in the following years. Furthermore, in autumn 2017 he was on tour with the brass ensemble "Pro Brass" through Austria and South Tyrol . At the Stockerau Festival in summer 2018, he appeared as Schlehwein in the Shakespeare comedy Much Ado About Nothing in a production by Zeno Stanek . In the 2018/19 season he was engaged as a guest at the Klagenfurt City Theater for the world premiere of the commissioned production Jannik und der Sonnendieb (director: Henry Mason) . In summer 2019 he was a guest at the Schlossspiele Kobersdorf in the Nestroy-Posse Das Mädl aus der Vorstadt (director: Beverly Blankenship ).

Weitschacher played his first film roles during his training. In the 13th season of the Austrian TV series SOKO Donau (director: Filippos Tsitos ) he had one of the leading roles in the episode as an innkeeper and son of a large Styrian farmer, Johann Butzler.

Markus Weitschacher has lived as a freelance actor in Vienna since 2016.
