Marlis Drevermann (born August 18, 1952 in Bochum ) is a German social scientist . She was an alderman for the city of Wuppertal and city ​​councilor in Hanover .

Life

Marlis Drevermann studied social sciences from 1971 to 1976 at the Ruhr University in Bochum . She then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Work Sociology until 1977 and in the Working Group for Housing, Urban Planning and Spatial Planning until 1982. V. at the Ruhr University, which operated as a GmbH from 1982 with her as co-founder, partner and member of the management.

From 1985 to 1986 she was a research assistant at the Institute for State and Urban Development Research of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf . Drevermann was a consultant for the urban development department until 1990, with the authority changing names . From 1990 to 1993 she was the deputy personal advisor in the office of Franz-Josef Kniola , Minister for Urban Development and Transport, and from 1994 to 1999 she was head of department.

From 2000 to 2007 Marlis Drevermann was councilor for culture, education, sport and the zoo of the city of Wuppertal .

From November 2007 to the end of October 2015, she was city councilor for culture and schools in the Lower Saxony state capital, Hanover. She was responsible for the construction of the new adult education center on the Hohe Ufer, the reconstruction of Herrenhausen Palace and the expansion of the Sprengel Museum . Since November 2016 she has been a member of the board of the Ballett Gesellschaft Hannover , which has organized the “International Choreography Competition” for three decades.
