Matt L. Hanson (* 1967 in Ratingen ) is a German rock - and jazz - drummer , singer , composer and producer . Since 2007 he has also worked as a writer .

Live and act

Beigang was a prizewinner at Jugend jazzt in 1984 and a member of the NRW Jugend Jazzorchester from 1985 to 1988 . From 1988 he studied at the Cologne University of Music with Michael Küttner , Peter Giger and Jiggs Whigham . In the jazz area he worked with Heinz (1990 to 1992), Intergalactic Maidenballet ( Montreux Jazz Festival 1992), Harald Haerter and Karl Denson ( Jazz Festival Zurich 1994), Wollie Kaisers Timeghost (1999 to 2000) and Klaus König (2001). From 1991 to 1997 and since the reunification in 2011 he has played with M. Walking on the Water . From 1998 he was the singer and composer of his project Eisen . In 2005 his solo CD “martell presente son interpretation personelle du post pop” (Zyx) was released. He received double platinum for the CD "Dick This" by the band Dick Brave and the Backbeats and gold in 2013 for the CD "Rock Therapy". In the meantime he has started his own business with the former "Backbeats" André Tolba (guitar) and Felix Wiegand under the name "Backbeat Trio", which also functions as a backing band for the rockabilly singer Peggy Sugarhill . With the jazz trio Neuzeit (to which organist Andreas Hirschmann and bassist Thomas Falke belong) he recorded the Carmina Variations (2014) based on the Carmina Burana . Since 2018 he has been the drummer with the Cologne vintage band Lou's the Cool Cats .

Beigang also played in the Cologne organ jazz trio "Swinger Club" (between 2001 and 2012) as well as with Jessica Gall & Band and the Adriano Batolba Orchestra. He also formed the duo Hallo Erde with Tim Talent , where he also plays bass . Your current band is called SCHANK. Together with Helmuth Fass he wrote the theme music for the TV series " Stromberg ".
