Martin Luther Church (Oberpfannenstiel)
The Evangelical Lutheran Martin Luther Church in the Oberpfannenstiel district of the city of Lauter-Bernsbach is a hall church in the Saxon Ore Mountains and the first Saxon church building with neo-Gothic style elements.
history
The inhabitants of the Oberpfannenstiel settlement founded in 1691 were initially parish in the town of Lößnitz . Because of the arduous road, especially in winter and at funerals, efforts began at the end of the 18th century to build a church of their own. After a short construction period, it was consecrated on October 17, 1819 and remained a branch of Lößnitz until January 1, 1828.
architecture
On the gable roof of the plastered building erected in the middle of the village with elongated pointed arch windows there are pointed dormer windows and a western roof turret with a pointed helmet . The west and east sides of the roof are provided with stepped gables, the original structure of which with painted blind arcades has not been preserved.
inner space
In the barrel-vaulted hall, neo-Gothic style elements were combined with classical forms. The surrounding gallery is supported by strong round columns and is worked into boxes with ogival openings on both sides of the altar . Below the galleries there are glazed prayer rooms with window tracery . The barriers of the choir are provided with a Gothic wooden grille.
The triangular gable of the pulpit altar , the columns of which are arranged in Tuscan style , is decorated with a halo and the symbol of the Trinity . The semicircular pulpit with fittings is located above a console that is decorated with the same foliage as the stand of the wooden baptism. The classicist lectern has a carved figure of Christ.
organ
The organ was installed in 1995 by the organ building company Wünning from Großolbersdorf in the prospectus of the Steinmüller organ from 1843, which was expanded in 1907 by the Dresden organ builder Jahn . The instrument has 10 stops on a manual and pedal .
