Martin Accola (born July 14, 1928 in Davos ; † June 3, 2012 in Chur ) was a Reformed pastor in the canton of Graubünden and was dean of the Evangelical Reformed Church in the canton of Graubünden for ten years .

Life

Accola grew up as the son of a teacher in Davos. He graduated from the Type A Matura in 1948 at the Bündner Kantonsschule in Chur.

After studying theology for seven semesters at the University of Zurich , he passed the exam. In the same year he was accepted into the Graubünden synod in Langwies .

Accola performed parish service in St. Peter and from 1956 in Flims , where he stayed until his retirement.

In 1968 Accola was elected dean of the synod in Landquart , after having been a member of the church council for two years . He held the office until 1978. He was instrumental in the major constitutional revision of the Bündnerkirche in 1978, which was confirmed by the electorate at the ballot box, during which, among other things, the colloquia were introduced and the lay people were given greater responsibility in the church bodies.
