Martin Gjurow ( Bulgarian Мартин Гюров ; born March 3, 1975 ) is a Bulgarian ice hockey player who played since 2015 at SK Irbis-Skate in the Bulgarian ice hockey league.

Career

Martin Gyurow first played for HK Levski Sofia in the Bulgarian ice hockey league . In 2009 he moved to local rivals HK Slawia Sofia , with whom he became Bulgarian national champion in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and also won the national cup competition in 2010 and 2011 . He has been playing for SK Irbis-Skate since 2015 , with which he was Bulgarian champion again in 2016 and 2017.

International

Gyurow took part with the Bulgarian national team in the qualifications for the Olympic Winter Games in Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010 . In qualifying for the 2010 Games, he and his team were eliminated in the pre-qualification due to the loss of a direct comparison (2: 6) despite having a tie with group winners Spain .

He also took part in the Division II World Championships in 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 when he led his colors onto the ice as team captain. At the 2017 and 2018 World Championships , he played in Division III.
