Life

Martin Hayneccius was born as the son of the schoolmaster and mayor of Borna, Clemens Hayneccius (around 1515–1590). He attended the Saxon electoral state school in Grimma , which was directed by Adam Siber . From 1562 to 1570 he studied philosophy and theology at the University of Leipzig , which he completed with a master's degree in the seven liberal arts. After that he worked as a teacher for some time in Leisnig , Chemnitz , Grimma and Amberg .

In Amberg he quit school and retired to Rochlitz for some time. In 1585 he became rector of the Martin School in Braunschweig and in 1588 rector of the electoral state school in Grimma, which he remained for over twenty years until his death.
