Martin Lattke

Martin Lattke (born May 29, 1981 in Pirna ) is a German singer ( lyric tenor ).

Career

Martin Lattke received his first vocal training at the age of seven. As a boy soprano, he had been a member of the St. Thomas Choir in Leipzig since 1990, where he spent the next nine years and enjoyed extensive musical training.

After his time as a choir, he co-founded the Leipzig vocal quintet Calmus in 1999 , with which he performed concert tours through Europe and the USA.

He is the first prize winner of international competitions and was awarded a scholarship at the German Music Competition in 2002 , as well as being included with the ensemble in the national selection of concerts for young artists . From 2006 to 2013 he was a member of the Ensemble Amarcord and made guest appearances in concert halls and music festivals around the world. In the future, he wants to devote himself entirely to solo work.

Martin Lattke received singing lessons from Gotthold Schwarz in Leipzig, before he began studying singing at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig with Hans-Joachim Beyer after completing his studies in industrial engineering in 2003 . In 2007 he received artistic impulses for the design of Johann Sebastian Bach's Passions from a master class with Peter Schreier .

His repertoire includes ensemble and song literature from the Renaissance to the modern era, oratorios and cantatas, preferably from Bach's oeuvre, as well as opera literature. He made his debut as an evangelist in JS Bach's Christmas Oratorio in 2008 at the GranTeatro La Fenice in Venice under the direction of Riccardo Chailly . Concerts led him a. a. in the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, with Kurt Weill's The Seven Deadly Sins for Lebanese National Orchestra to Beirut and regularly for the great passion performances with the St. Thomas Choir under the direction of Thomas cantor Georg Christoph Biller in the Thomas Church . As part of his singing activities, he toured Europe, the USA, Australia, Canada, Russia, Korea, Africa, Central America and the Middle East.

The highlights of his career to date have been the recording of the Christmas Oratorio for Decca with the Gewandhaus Orchestra under the direction of Riccardo Chailly in 2010 and the recording of the St. Matthew Passion under the direction of Georg Christoph Biller on DVD / Blu-ray in 2012 .

Lattke was awarded the ECHO Klassik in 2010 with the Ensemble Amarcord for the CD Rastlose Liebe and in 2012 for the CD Das Lieben brings great Freud .
