Martin Vráblík (born July 4, 1982 in Vsetín ) is a Czech ski racer .

biography

Vráblík drove his first FIS race in November 1997. In 1999 , 2001 and 2002 he took part in the Junior World Championships and achieved the best result of 22nd place in the 2001 slalom. The Czech had his first two starts in the European Cup in December 2001, further missions followed only two years later. So far, Vráblík could rarely place in the top 20 in European Cup races. His best result is 16th place in the giant slalom on the Reiteralm on December 2nd, 2008.

In the World Cup , Vráblík competed in the Wengen slalom for the first time on January 18, 2004 . In the same month, two more World Cup appearances followed, the next two not until January 2006. Since the 2006/07 season , Vráblík has competed more frequently in the World Cup - primarily in slalom and less often in all other disciplines with the exception of downhill. On March 9, 2007, he finished 30th in the super combination of Kvitfjell for the first time in the points. His best placings so far are two 23rd places in the super combinations of Val-d'Isère on December 12, 2008 and Krasnaja Poljana on February 12, 2012. However, points wins in the World Cup are still the exception. In slalom or giant slalom, he has never been able to qualify for the second round.

Vráblík has been taking part in world championships since 2003, but only crossed the finish line three times in a total of eleven starts: in 2003 he finished 40th in the downhill, in 2005 ranked 26th in the slalom and in 2011 ranked 17th in the super combined. At the 2006 Olympic Games he achieved twelfth place in the combination, 21st place in slalom and 38th place in Super-G. At the 2010 Winter Olympics , like four years before, he took part in all competitions except the downhill, but came this time only finished 31st in the super combination.
