Marwa Ahmed Hussein Arafat ( Arabic مروة أحمد حسين عرفات) (Born June 19, 1978 ) is an Egyptian hammer thrower and Olympic participant. The only 1.68 meter tall athlete with a competition weight of 110 kilograms is particularly successful at the large multinational events in Africa, for example, four times in a row she was African champion and has held the African record in her discipline since 2005. For her home country she took part in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , but did not get past the qualifying round. Even a year earlier at the World Athletics Championships in Paris in 2003 , she did not reach the final. During a training control in August 2010, she tested positive for stanozolol and was banned for two years.
